The guesthouse snugs into the hill down below the main house, the roofs extend the garden and become a sculpture garden on their own.
The stairs with huge walls leading you down towards the view, towards the Bel Air Country Club, are red, most obvious, most inviting. The volume of the guest house-human-scale is green. The library - science - complementing nature - is blue. The skylights are yellow, creating a play of light through their rotation, set in a sand garden. The roof at the entrance to the library is sheet metal. All these elements act as signs that something special is happening.
